Greetings,

I hope all of you got a good day of rest yesterday. Although it is not easy to call off church, I am glad many of you who commit to coming and service get to rest. It is still an ice pond around the church today. With the snow coming again and temps are dropping it does not look promising for Wednesday night. Again, we will let you know by email, facebook, twitter and 610 AM The good news is that  it looks favorable for Sunday as the temps will be rising.

Due to the weather conditions Heather will not be in today or possibly tomorrow.

If you know of anyone needing a nice but used fridge and stove contact Laurie Belcher at:
 lauriebelcher@icloud.com or call her at :270 847-9969.

Have a blessed day,

Calvin

If it snows and we need to cancel, I will let you know if we need to cancel by email, facebook, twitter and radio WRUS 610.
See the source image
The flu has hit hard, including several of our members and those who serve. While we probably would not cancel for this reason, we may have to make adjustments. Also, if you are having symptoms this would be the only time you would hear your pastor say, "don't come to church."

From Kelly Rainwater:
Just wanted to share that we are reading through the Bible this year as a family - using a plan from the You version app that you suggested during your sermon. The plan we are using is called "Bible in One Year 2018". Each day has commentary, a Psalm or Proverb reading, a New Testament reading, and an Old Testament reading. The commentary ties all the readings together making the readings more interesting and easier to follow (rather than just starting in Genesis and reading to Revelations!). You can add people for a group reading, so we all have the app on our phones and follow along as a family. This also allows us to do the readings together even if we are not all at home. Once the readings are complete, we each can then post a comment in the app on the day's readings (which keeps us all involved).Thank you for suggesting we read through the Bible and for suggesting the app. We're excited to see what God will do in our family this year!..................
Yesterday, after seeing the Naylor Note and typing my reply, I was able to talk to a couple of my co-workers that I am not sure have a relationship with God about the app (and we even installed the app on their phones!). It opened an opportunity to answer questions and help them get started in their own studying - something that would not have been possible without the Lord.
He's working already!!

Have a blessed day,

Calvin

Greetings,

Sunday's sermon Three Ways Our Church Thrives from the new series Thrive Until He Arrives is up. Check it out at:

We had a great meeting with Rick Howerton. We are almost ready to launch new small groups. Join many of us in prayer for this ministry of discipleship.

If you didn't pick up a card for Operation Andrew they will be available tomorrow and Sunday. Until then you can write down names of people you know that are lost to begin praying for them.

If you are behind already on your reading the Bible through and have given up here are a few helps:

1. Consider a new plan. For example, make a plan to read Genesis through or another book at a slower pace.
2. Consider reading it in 2 or 3 years.
3. Just start reading where you left off.
4. Set a new goal of just reading a verse a day or a chapter a day.
5. Take the approach to read it to hear God speak to you rather than just trying to complete a task.
6. Just ask God to help you read it and have a quiet time. He can move you to read it and make time for you that you didn't know you had.

Have a great day,

Calvin
