We are looking for a Director to lead our volunteers and grow God’s children.  Walnut Grove has a great volunteer base already established for its children’s ministry. We have many young families with approximately 40 children that attend on Sunday mornings and 50 or more on Wednesday nights.  

WG KIDS VISION:  Here at Walnut Grove we seek to provide a rooted Bible learning experience that will connect children and their families with our Lord Jesus Christ. We strive to grow God’s children with a strong foundation in the word of God to make disciples in Christ.  We serve all children Birth- 5th grade.

Knowing the above we seek to fill the position of director for our children’s ministry, WG KIDS.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Born again Christian with an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Experiencing a God calling to serve children and their families 
  • Possessing Christ like character of compassion, love, kindness, honesty, trustworthiness, and forgiveness
  • Showing abilities in leadership and organization 

Professional Qualifications: 

  • Biblical knowledge foundation rooted in God’s holy word
  • Experience in faith development 
  • Understanding the child developmental stages and learning styles
  • Seeks opportunities to grow professionally 
  • Maintains accountability with church authorities (pastor, deacons, children’s team)
  • Displaying effective communication abilities
  • Ability to utilize technical skills for word processing and social media as well as public relations.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Oversee all children’s ministry programs
    1. Sunday school  & Children’s Church
    2. Wednesday night program
    3. Vacation Bible School
    4. Special Events: (ex: Easter, Christmas, Camp, ect..)
  2. Address curriculum needs for each program and grade level
  3. Create learning environments and promote spiritual growth
  4. Recruit, train, schedule and lead teams of volunteers
  5. Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.
  6. Provide spiritual care and attention to children and their families through prayer, teaching, counseling, and meeting physical needs
  7. Work with other ministries in the church body to address financial needs, safety requirements, and van essentials as well as maintaining open communications between pastor, secretary, and children’s team which are directly connected to WG KIDS.
